Bumpy Green Gator

April 8th, 2009

Down by the river where the green grass grows,
There is a place I like to go,
To see a gator so bumpy and green.
As soon as I saw him
I said, “he looks mean.”
But the gator was mad because his water was brown
If it was clean, he would not frown.
“So keep it clean,” the gator did say,
“And all my fish and animal friends can play.”

Am I the only one who thinks that Mr. Gator’s concern for the little fishies is not entirely disinterested? What about that mouth full of pointy teeth? This is a very funny little poem.
