Stripped house

 

I walk toward away

Remembering
What I have seen
But nothing I see

Sensing
What I have felt
But nothing I feel

Out and into I fall

I am
Where I have come to
But I am still going
Deteriorating

The poet's short, fragmented, disconnected lines really make the reader feel the pain she's experiencing. Among its many, many other uses and virtues, poetry is one way a poet deals with pain.
