Fight the Fall

May 4th, 2014

I fight the fall from courage and breathe
Heartbeats pause for peace
Knowing it comes
Believing its presence as

An unmistakable force
Wills lashes to bow on raised cheeks
Lifts, expands, and catches me
In arms of gratitude
And tames the fear

I breathe away the matter
Inhale the rest

My friend and fellow poet Hasna has generously contributed several poems to these pages. She joins us again with this piece which is both wrenching and delirious, like an unforgettable dream one had as a child.

See more from this poet. And come back for another day of poetry tomorrow. If you want to be part of 30 Days of Poetry, send your poems to until May 30th. I look forward to hearing from you!
