Heartways: Two Poems

May 25th, 2014

Heart in the clouds

The Gates of Potential

People don’t think they can do anything
They think they need guidance
But what they don’t realize
Their guidance is always inside them.
If you think you can do something
Go and try to achieve it.
No matter how many times you try
From your first to successful attempt
Just remember
If you think your spirit says you can do it,
Unlock the gates of potential
And overthrow the champion of fear.

While My Eyes Are Closed…

While my eyes are closed I can see everything
I can see the moon and the shining stars
I can hear my heart beat a “thump, thump”
I can hear myself breathe in & out
Even if I’m thought to be a useless and unable human
I can still walk and care for every living thing
I taught you how to live and how to die
Maybe just maybe you can close your eyes,
So I can open mine

The poets have given us two views of love that don't end with romance.

Come back for another day of poetry tomorrow. If you want to be part of 30 Days of Poetry, send your poems to 30daysofpoetry4@gmail.com until May 30th. I look forward to hearing from you!
